Eva M. Bonis

About the Author

Eva Bonis was born in Budapest, Hungary, and was exposed to Hungarian desserts in her childhood.  Some of Eva's fondest memories include her mother's delectable home baked sweets and the luscious dining experiences of her youth.

As mouthwatering as they may be, Hungarian desserts tend to be high in calories and cholesterol.  Because desserts have such an important place in Hungarian cuisine, Eva wanted to makeover these original recipes so that they would be both delicious and healthy.  After much experimentation, Eva has created a collection of lowfat Epicurean desserts from both Hungary and the United States.  Some of her favorites include Cocoa-Filled Pancakes and Raspberry Tiramisu.  Eva warmly recalls how a dessert at the end of a meal can create a romantic and relaxed dining experience. Eva has been baking since 1956. She resides in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
